4 Burnett, Frances Hodgson Little Lord Fauntleroy
Charles Scribner's Sons 1901 Hardcover Very Good None Hardcover 12mo - over 6
A very good copy of the book, with a cream base for the boards and red/green designs on the cover and spine. Title and crowns surrounding it are gilded. The spine is tight, but a little cocked. The plate opposite the title page has a two inch rip next to the spine, but it doesn't effect the quality of the plate itself. The gutter of the back cover is gone; the front gutter is starting, but the hinges are intact on both. Boards are good, with minor wear and a little damage to the bottom of the spine A stamp is pasted on the FFE commemorating the Centennial of the founding of Astoria , Oregon in 1811, the celebration to be held in 1911. Stamp is nicely designed, dark salmon red, with a center engraving of the city on the hillside. Not a postage stamp. Perforated. 2" wide by 1 1/8" high. Stamp is Fine condition. A sweet Merry Christmas gift inscription on the FFE in pencil, dated 1911.
