Please browse our inventory of books and magazines, including rare, antiquarian and out of print titles.We are an independent bookstore specializing in quality used books, magazines, sheet music and ephemera, with our areas of expertise being first editions, quality literature, Pacific Northwest History, United States history and the social sciences. The store was opened in 1980 in SE Portland, Oregon and has been in its present location for more than 15 years.Please feel free to take a look at our blog at http://www.longfellowspdx.blogspot.com/. There you should be able to see some of our recent acquisitions and hopefully see things which aren't listed on the site. For new customers who would like to visit the store in person, our hours are 11-5:30 Monday through Friday and 1-5 Saturdays. Please be aware that these are the hours that we attempt to stick to as assiduously as possible. Sometimes we are there a little early or stay a little late; occasionally we do have to close the store earlier than our normal hours (to make it to the post office before it closes, etc), and once in a while we are closed due to health complications or the like. We hope that you will understand if you catch us at an inopportune moment, and if you're coming from across the city or even another city, please feel free to give us a call at (503) 239-5222 to make sure we'll be there to help you. We are a family owned and operated business and we hope to make you feel comfortable when you're in our store or dealing with us over the internet. We presently have approximately 5000 books online, and are hoping to quickly expand that number to around 10,000, in addition to uploading our collections of collectible sheet music and magazines. We have been selling our books online for more than 3 years via other websites, and opened this online storefront in September 2006.
